Frequently asked questions
What if the original value is negative?
There is no universally appropriate percentage-growth interpretation for negative baselines. This tool uses the absolute original value, so −100 to −50 reports +50%. State this convention when sharing.
What is the difference between percentage points and percent change?
Moving from 10% to 15% is 5 percentage points, but a 50% relative increase. Enter 10 and 15 here to find the relative increase.
