Frequently asked questions

Does a 25% markup mean a 25% margin?

No. Adding 25% to cost gives a 20% margin on the selling price. The denominators are different.

How do I price from a target markup?

Multiply cost by 1 plus the markup expressed as a decimal. For a 25% markup, price = cost × 1.25.
